HEWITT ON THE MOVE: THE CAPITAL FUND
The Hewitt School is pleased to announce the successful completion our capital campaign which has come to be known as Hewitt On the Move:The Capital Fund. The campaign which officially began in May 2001, was a commitment by Linda MacMurray Gibbs, the board of trustees and the larger community to raise $11 million over a five year time period. The campaign is the first in over 15 years and is one of the most important fundraising initiatives in Hewitt’s history. The $11 million was earmarked to support the newly renovated Andrew J. McKelvey Lower School, the newly created library/media center, and the increasing of the school’s endowment. The early leadership support of both the board of trustees and Andy McKelvey set the campaign off to a very strong start. We are happy to report that we finished off the campaign on June 30, 2005 and raised a total of $11.184 million. We would never have been as successful without the early leadership support of Andy McKelvey and the board of trustees as well as the generous support of our wonderful community.
