The Hewitt School, founded in 1920, is committed to the education and development of young women who will be the leaders of the future. Our motto, "By Faith and Courage," demonstrates the essence of a Hewitt education, with its emphasis on self-knowledge and confidence as well as courage to move forward with energy and enthusiasm.
The mission of the Hewitt School is to provide a challenging and exciting educational program for our students. We encourage our girls to be creative and independent thinkers, to challenge their assumptions and to be risk-takers. At Hewitt we pride ourselves on knowing our students as the individuals that they are and in helping each girl develop her potential to the fullest. As our school motto suggests, we want our students to have faith in themselves and to demonstrate courage, responsibility, and leadership.
This website will allow you to learn more about our academic curriculum, athletic programs, and creative arts, as well as about our diverse students and their myriad activities. I want to draw attention to the broad array of community service initiatives which are undertaken yearly and are integral to the philosophy of the school. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to read profiles of faculty and administration. There are also sections devoted to facilities, both current and planned, and to the important efforts needed to move forward with the goals which we have set through our strategic plan which was completed recently.
